• News briefs are based on first-hand observation, official statements, verified press releases, and reputable national/international wire services.
• Anonymous sources are used only when public-interest information cannot otherwise be obtained, and only after editor approval.
• User-generated content (tips, photos, videos) is independently verified before publication.

2. Fact-Checking

• Every story is reviewed by at least one editor before publishing.
• Statistics, dates, names, and direct quotes are double-checked against primary sources.
• Where claims are unverifiable, we say so plainly in the article rather than imply confirmation.

3. Corrections & Updates

If a story contains a factual error, we update the article promptly, mark the change with an "Updated" timestamp, and where significant, list the correction on our Corrections page.

4. Editorial Independence

• Advertising and sponsored content are clearly labelled. They do not influence newsroom coverage.
• No payment is accepted in exchange for coverage or favourable treatment.
• Reporters disclose any personal interest in topics they cover; an editor reassigns the story when warranted.

5. Headlines & Imagery

• Headlines accurately reflect the article's content. We avoid clickbait and sensationalism.
• Featured images are relevant to the story; stock or file images are noted where used.

6. Right of Reply

Subjects of critical reporting are offered a fair opportunity to respond before publication. Their response is included or fairly summarised in the article.
